The Utah Jazz play host to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Thursday night NBA Basketball: Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:30 pm (Vivint Smart Home Arena)

The Philadelphia 76ers haven't been playing anywhere near their best as they've lost four of their last seven games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short against the Celtics in a 121-114 overtime loss on Christmas Day

the Utah Jazz are starting to build some momentum with three wins in their last four games and they will be looking to stay hot after beating the Trailblazers by 117-96 on Christmas Day.

the 76ers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a loss and 5-14 ATS in their last 19 road games. The Jazz are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall

the 76ers shot 41 percent and 15 of 40 from the 3-point line but they couldn't find the basket when it mattered as they managed just six points in overtime and they couldn't stop the Celtics' Kyrie Irving who torched them for 40 points. With the loss, Philadelphia fell to 22-13 on the season and 6-10 on the road.

Warriors vs Trail Blazers

The Warriors are reeling, and they'll have to stop one of the Western Conference's best teams in order to snap their skid.

The game will be played at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. Saturday will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams and the first in Portland.

the Portland Trail Blazers are in town for a Black Friday showdown, and the Blazers are looking to make a statement.

The Blazers are led by the incomparable Damian Lillard and his 27.1 points per game. Pair that with CJ McCollum's 21.3 points per game and they form one of the best back courts in the NBA.

The Portland Trailblazers have been in decent form as they've won four of their last six games, but they will be looking to bounce back after getting hammered by the Jazz in a 117-96 road loss on Christmas Day. Damian Lillard led the team in scoring with 20 points on nine of 21 shooting, but he simply had no help as Evan Turner added 12 points while CJ McCollum and Al-Farouq Aminu each scored 11 points.

The Warriors were one of the hottest teams in the league before they got routed by the Lakers on Christmas Day, so you know they'll be eager to get back on the court against the Trailblazers who they've already beaten by 125-97 back on Nov 23.

The Trailblazers will also be looking for a bounce-back performance here, but they've been a poor road team all season and they are only 8-22 ATS in the last 30 meetings in Golden State. This seems like a lot of points to be giving up but the Warriors have won every game following a double-digit loss this season and I think that trend continues in this one as Curry leads the Warriors with a big game

The Boston Celtics have managed to pay off on the NBA odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark in each of their last four games against the Houston Rockets as those teams hit the hardwood in a post-holiday matchup on Thursday night at the Toyota Center.

The Celtics have a major edge at point guard with Irving playing at the top of his game right now, and he will be able to take advantage of Paul's absence. Bet on Boston to cover and potentially win this one.

This game is hovering around a pick'em on the betting lines for Thursday night, with the total having opened at 214.5 points.

the Philadelphia 76ers in its last outing on Christmas Day, winning 121-114 in overtime as a 5-point home favorite in a contest that went OVER the posted total of 224 points. That was just the Celtics' second cover in their last five games, and their sixth OVER result for totals bettors in their last seven contests.

Celtics and the Rockets split their two meetings last season, with Boston winning 99-98 as a 2-point home underdog in December and Houston winning 123-120 as an 8.5-point home favorite in March.

Boston has picked up the ATS win in each of its last four games against Houston and in six of the last seven meetings dating back to 2015. The UNDER has paid off for totals bettors at the sportsbooks in eight of their last 10 matchups.

Boston will head into the new year a step back of the top contenders on the NBA championship odds at +1000 (wager $100 to win $1000), which puts them still behind both the Golden State Warriors (-150) and the Toronto Raptors (+600). The Rockets are listed at +1400 odds, rebounding on that futures list after winning seven of their last 10 games
